Did you miss the Couture week? I didn’t forget about it, but you know… life. Anyhow as Leandra, ‘Man Repeller’ Medine Cohen pointed out here, couturiers take their time to create magic called Haute Couture, we’re allowed to do so to process it. Not that this happened in this case, but it an excellent excuse nonetheless.
So Couture week, and within it Clare Waight Keller in the lead of Givenchy is here to amaze us. An amazing tribute to Hubert de Givenchy, who died this February.
Before that fortunately, the new creative director had had the honour to meet him and so, she could speak about her experience a few weeks ago. “Having met him, and the fact that he passed three months ago, he felt very present in my mind; his legacy felt like something that needed to be celebrated. Everybody knows his work with Audrey Hepburn but less so the capes, the peekaboos, the architecture, the ‘flou’… It was a wonderful trip for me to discover it and reinterpret it my way,” she explained.
The flou is definitely here, but in a updated, very modern way, so thank you Clare the tribute is paid the famous French fashion house is in good hands.
Do you feel the flou?
