Have you been missing platform shoes? Because then here we are with Stella McCartney introducing her new interpretation of them. Granted, she had a rather big success with the more manly brogues a couple of years ago, but then the overall trend was more minimal and edgy than now. This new version reminds me of the Spice Girls era and when my mother basically forbade me to buy a pair, btw thanks mom for that.
So yes, I don’t like platforms (especially on me) or clear plastic shoes but there is plenty other things here to adore. The dresses are beautiful and boudoir like with delicate broderie anglaise and fringe details, the tailoring is sharp and manly as always., balancing between masculine and feminine, sporty and elegant as one does.
And then there is the sustainability element, which everybody should be cheerful for. “Resort is a celebration of all things Stella McCartney and of the constant journey to make the industry more mindful and responsible and more sustainable,” said the designer. Those fugly shoes are made of the brand’s newest invention of a non-PVC material, along with the biodegradable sole. Now that’s commitment.
