A new summer asks for the next (the 71st to be precise) Cannes Film Festival, and stars didn’t disappoint when it came to dressing up, although I have to say I much more appreciated the recent Met Gala efforts, even if the two occasions are not the same.
Khadja Nin, Lea Seydoux, Cate Blanchett, Ava DuVernay and Kristen Stewart. Probably this is one of my favourite photocall groups ever. Everybody looks gorgeous and I’m particularly happy because everybody chose the right colour for her complexion.
Julianne Moore in Givenchy Haute Couture. And this is how to wear a red gown as a redhead on the red carpet.
Cate Blanchett in Armani Privé. When a dress has bigger party at the back.
Lea Seydoux in Louis Vuitton. I’m not the biggest fan of Louis Vuitton, but this dress is really on point, along with Lea’s smile.
Chloe Sevigny in Chanel. Well, i’m not a massive fan of Chanel either but there is something in Chloe Sevigny that – somehow – makes the most questionable dress work.
Lupita Nyong’o in Dior. This gown could be risqué but Lupita totally nails it.
Kendall Jenner in Schiaparelli. Risqué sheer gown #2. I know supermodels’ job is basically to look great in anything and everything, but they tend to overplay it anyway.
Kristen Stewart in Chanel. I was thinking for a while which look to choose for Kristen as she seems rather uncomfortable most of the time, and there was something that didn’t really work, not to mention that I’m not convinced she’s the best as a Chanel woman. Eventually I settled on this look, because this silver mini dress works the best, I like the makeup and can tolerate her hair.
Bella Hadid in Elie Saab. It seems the theme was silver this night, but that’s cool because it suits Bella Hadid as well. Also, she absolutely knows how to rock her body.
Jane Fonda in Valentino. Silver look #3 and it doesn’t get more Hollywood glamorous than this.
Thandie Newton in Vivienne Westwood. Thandie also has a thing to dress characteristically amazing, and this dress, with the black Star Wars heros all over it.
Who is your favourite?
