Even though I’ve never been a dark denim person – if you haven’t noticed already -, I like mixing one bit of it once in a while, you know, to wander a bit away from my usual go to pale numbers. Of course it also has to tick all the right boxes, like simple casual, but also has a bit of extra, good fabric and quality, nice yet comfy fit and last but not least; an affordable price. Quite a miracle when it comes to jeans, right?
Now, I’m not saying this pair is total perfection, cos you know, they’re not pale wash jeans, but a very good alternative nonetheless. Due to some elastane they’re very comfortable, the cut is on point (straight leg – high waist, the best, duh!) and extra jazzy contrast stitching, along with the raw hem and exposed buttons which were just enough to justify them, even if I already possess the quite similar black version, oops.
The styling was a whole different story though and a pain in the arse to be honest, which made me realised again why I’ve been hanging onto my light wash vintage (like) pairs so much. Is this just me? Anyway, a little challenge has never stopped me to buy and wear whatever I fancy and it’s not going to be the case here either, hence the impromptu acquisition of a matching dark denim jacket, oops again.
Jacket – New Look, sunnies – Zara, bandana – Amazon, t-shirt – Topshop, jeans – Mango, pendant necklace – Missoma, watch – Daniel Wellington, trainers – Superga, mini tote bag -Urban Outfitters
Granted, the result is a bit 50s in style, but I enjoyed every minute and actually I want to wear it right now despite being at home in my lounge pants, haha. 🙂
