Am I the only one who gets slight Phoebe Philo vibes here? Maybe it’s only the British air or being successful women who feel comfortable in their own skin. Maybe both but VB gets better and more self-conscious by every season. She started her namesake brand 10 years(!) ago and while the first times weren’t exactly easy, she’s worked her way up as a respected and talented designer.
“When I first started it was about the empowerment of a woman and her silhouette,” as she noted. “It feels like an evolution of where I started with certain pieces: a nice neat shoulder, a nipped-in waist, and lots of layering. There’s a depth to this collection.”
A depth indeed, that kind what fashionable and also self-conscious women love, it’s simple and comfortable and very feminine without showing any flesh. It has sporty drawstrings, mansy square toe shoes and airy-girly plisses but also buttery leathers and big utilitarian coats. A lots of detail which are worth to like.
