Having one not too big wardrobe is kind of a challenge for a fashionista like me, not to mention I have to share it with my husband. I’m not complaining though, it can store quite a lot and I’m more committed to the ‘one piece come, one piece go’ principle. I don’t like to keep clothes I don’t wear in my wardrobe anyway, so it’s always better when that piece of clothing finds another loving home and more wear, right? How many clothes do we need anyway? I’m pretty sure not the amount I have (70-80 pieces with outerwear included), and I like to think I’m quite all right. And yet, I like to have my options.
We don’t have a closet, so I’m gonna launch this tour with a view of our new bed. Even more so, because I’m totally, madly, utterly in love with it. It’s from Dreams, a Super King Size which wasn’t my first choice, I’d add, but again, I have no complaints here. What I like more though, that’s the height of it, if I seat properly on the edge, my feet cannot touch the floor and that’s kinda cool. It’s also an ottoman style which is the best option when you lack storage space, and it’s also a good exercise to open and close.
The Sloth Cushion is from Urban Outfitters, in case you’re wondering, and it’s so perfect that I just couldn’t leave it behind. A gentle reminder how we should act when we reach the bedroom if you will :).
This is my side of our wardrobe and that’s our cat’s shadow because he has to be involved with everything I do at home.
I brought this IKEA shelving unit with me from our previous flat, mainly because we hate applying shelves on the wall. The top of it is dedicated to Mushu who likes to hide there and cover all my stuff with hair, if any kind of strangers come. On the right I keep my shoe boxes and in some of them, my spring/summer shoes.
This is the main sight and I’m quite pleased with myself if I may say so. But really only looking at this segment makes my little heart happier, which is what if not the ultimate wardrobe goals, or one of them at least? 🙂 The hangers are from eBay (although I’m pretty sure Amazon has them as well) and they work well, being not thick and having this velvety kind of non-slippery coverage.
My jumper collection on the top neatly folded, and it may seem I’m a pretty predictable person, I guess. Oh, how much I love a good triple alliteration.
The back of the bedroom’s door has my summer bag, so I can’t get bored of them, but they’re still at reachable distance at any time.
My husband’s shoes and my trainers are in these white IKEA shoe cabinets, and we love these because they’re cheap, lightweight and has a tray like top where we stores our keys and other bits and bops. They’re not deep enough though, so my ankle boots are placed on the stairs. But at least I can see what I’ve got.
The rest of my bags, what I’m using currently, have no dedicated place at the moment. I’m thinking about a shelf upstairs to have everything in one room, but until then, they’re on this storage box in the living room with my (and my husband’s) watches. This box has all my eBay stuff inside btw, and I cannot wait to buy a proper sideboard, preferably a vintage mid-century modern piece.
I hope you liked this post, and fear not to share your thoughts. 🙂
