I have a habit of detoxing my wardrobe all the time which sometimes leads me to the nothing to wear state of mind, which is of course not true, not bottom wise anyway. However, when it comes to jumpers and tops my struggle is real. I had to turn the table and seek for good quality but not too expensive ones, which is not easy task if you ask me, but eventually I was able to score a few really good basic ones. You can never go wrong with good basics, right?
ASOS I like ASOS because it’s easy. You go there pick up a few things and the minimum delivery limit (£20) is pretty good too, not to mention the free returns, but those should come by default. Anyway, I picked up this cotton blend jumper mainly because it was around 50% off. It’s from Vila, a Danish brand which I’m looking forward to purchase more. And then I picked up this pretty necklace from an American brand called Dogeared, and it wasn’t intended by any means, but it’s a rose gold crescent pendant necklace which apparently represents creativity and personal growth.
Maybe Probably it’s only good marketing, but it worked, at least I wanna believe. 🙂
H&MH&M has some really good stuff right now, and one of them is this black leather ankle boot with exposed ring pull zipper along the heels. There is nothing more staple than black ankle booties in my eyes, and these are only £60 which is quite a bargain if you ask me. I love a good basic with a twist. <3They also have this double breasted blazer with houndstooth print and I think this is far the best option among the heritage jackets on the high street. Firstly, the shape and fit are spot on, bit oversized, just the way it should be. Secondly, it’s made of 100% Italian cotton (with an old style label inside), and thirdly, it’s only £60.
MangoI don’t know about you but I never look for jumpers in Mango, because they not the best (mostly full acrylic, blah), but this time I looked around online and few thing seemed quite convincing. Like this knit sweater, which is similar to the Vila above, but it’s slightly smaller, has a crew neck and made of full cotton. Did I mention the price? I was only £20! Also available in more colours, but this is the best. 🙂 Now I think I have to change my mind about jumpers and Mango. Case in point; I was looking for a fine black breton stripe knit for ages and now I found it for £18. At Mango. Never mind it’s not black, but dark grey, because otherwise it ticks all the other boxes really nicely and it’s not navy. Thank you Mango for that.
Agolde (via Shopbop)And finally, because I was so successful on hunting for jumpers with good prices, I gifted a pair of jeans to myself. As a treat you know. Anyway, I’ve heard a lot of good things about Agolde before, and if you’re not familiar with it, it’s a premium jeans brand from Los Angeles. Where else.
These are called the Jamie High Rise Classic Jeans in the Brooklyn wash and they fit like a dream. The fit is quite similar to jeans by Re/Done, but the denim is not so heavy therefore less rigid which sometimes feels just right. If you think the Re/Dones are too pricey (they definitely are) but still want a good premium jean, this could be a good option for a bit less.
Now I’m really ready for the colder seasons, although I’m not sure on this amount of jumper (certainly not the amount of jeans and boots :P) is enough yet. I think I still need one or two in something like a warm camel colour…
What do you think of my purchases?
