Before I totally knocked out myself, I mean, this cold/flu knocked me out, I ran some errands to check the worthy, and well, not so worthy offerings in Oxford Street. Of course I won’t bother you with the latter, but show the things that could be worth to invest in before ugly fall and winter (which is basically the same here in the UK, lol) hits.
&Other StoriesMaybe mules are not so practical in this season but I had to try anyway. Actually I also have reasons behind this; 1, there is still some day to rock them barefoot, but when temperature drops, they can be worn with socks or tights. Or, could pass in the office as a sleek, yet comfy pair to change when it’s needed? I mean, how many reason is enough to justify shoes? 😀
I was eyeing a lot with these Gucci look-a-like loafers online, but never got to actually order it, because all kind of shipping fee is a b*tch and because I convinced myself it would be all right, they were gone. So this was the perfect occasion to try them on for -you know – free, and actually I’m happy I didn’t bite the bullet. They’re really nice and I bet great quality, but there is something off with the design and my heels were slipping off from size 5, while size 4 was small… meh.
These are basically the pair above but without heels. The reasoning behind is the same though, but I think I prefer the burnt orange pair which are long sold out curtesy of Lucy Williams probably, sigh…
H&MDid I mention corduroy is big this season? And any kid of warm yellowish brown, and that I’m really into both of them? No? Then here is a visual confirmation. Didn’t buy it though, not sure why, I just didn’t like the fit on me. 🙁
Then I tried this wool coat in the same colour, and my problem was the same. I like this, it reasonably priced (£100) and all, but way too oversized. Or I’m way too small, but the result is the same either way. Why oh why has to be every coat this flipping long?
TopshopStill that warm tan colour, but on a form of suede ankle boots. Would like to have one with less cowboy-y and more feminine vibe, but the heels on these are to high.
So back to the cowboy vibe. As you can see this was another day, but I’m including it here because why not. So you cannot see properly, but I was trying on the Matcha boots in black suede and fell in love. They check all the right boxes for me and this very pair was the last pair in my size, so had to act. For £62 this is a great buy if you ask me.
Oh and the hat. Because I don’t favour umbrellas, but like my head protected from the elements and also because hats are making a comeback, I tried on all kind of them. I don’t think I’m French enough to pull the beret off though, but then these were too big, or again, my head is too small :D. Probably the latter cos every kind of high street hat are too big, maybe I should try the kid’s section next.
I love the small Brandy Melville corner in Topshop, and I found this little Cholé like bag for around £35 I think. Sure thing it’s not leather, but didn’t seem bad and had a lot of pockets and compartments to carry my sh*t. Didn’t buy it in the end, because I love my bags but mainly cos I’m thinking (dreaming?) about investing in one in the not too foreseeable future, and now I’m closer with £35. As I said before; hope dies last. 🙂
What do you think?
