There is this bubble effect which we and all the social platforms create around us (probably not in the right order, but that’s not the point now), which, supposedly is trying to simplify our life, but what it does, really, is to keep us away from different kind of experiences. It came to my mind because I’m rather aware what style I have and like, therefore, I’m pretty
specific picky about who to follow.
Manrepeller, for example, is totally not my cup of tea, and I didn’t follow it for such a long time, even though, I was very much aware of the hype. But now, being older and wiser, I adore the girls’ writing skills and wits nonetheless. Also, I’m grateful they are able to tear that bubble a bit to let new experiences in.
And this is how Ulla Johnson comes to the picture, if you’ve been wondering so far. 🙂 Probably I never, ever would check her collections out, if my attention hadn’t been drawn to her. There are way too much designer around now, old and new ones too, and I have to be a bit selective. Plus lets face the fact that Ulla Johnson is usually not the person/brand whom the buzz is big around. But the ice has broken and here we are.
Love the simple, almost prairie like style, adore all of these colours and I’m welcoming all the basket bags and lace up shoes. It’s feminine but a bit edgy at the same time, and has that feel to it which I would’t mind oozing in the midst of summer, though I’m not really a prairie girl. You see? That’s what I call a good show.
What do you think of the SM bubble or the collection? 🙂
