Yes, this is only 2nd day part I (1st day right here :)), as I told you, this one was a long day, the longest probably we had that long weekend, and the one, where few shots of pálinka (Hungarian schnapps if you will, medicine in small amounts, remedy in large amount as we say, a must if you there and so on) broke our British friends a bit, lol. And yet this is a long post with lots of outfit and non-outfit pictures and less words, because it’s Saturday and warm and sunny and get outside anyway, except if you’re already outside looking these on your phone, then just have a drink of your choice and enjoy :).
So this day we started on Deák Square as earlier, and this time we invaded Buda. Fun fact, if you didn’t know, Buda and Pest were two towns actually either side of the Danube, then they emerged and the rest is history. This photo was taken from the Elizabeth Bridge, in case you wondering.
Ok, this picture may seem a bit off-topic, but I’ll connect them in a second. So there was a trade market in the Buda Castle while there and we stumbled upon these beautiful rugs. These were handmade in Uzbekistan, made of poor silk and the smaller ones cost around 800 Eur. Needless to say, I really wanted the lighter one on the left. Still drooling here… No more pictures from the market, if you interested go there and try it, only next year though because it happened before and on the 20th Augustus holiday weekend. Anyway, if you there, try the strawberry wine with some soda while looking at this amazing view with the Parliament, Danube and Chain Bridge. I mean strawberry wine!!!This is what I wore, as you might have guessed. It was hooot, and the less clothing was the better so I went for this a bit rustic table cloth like dress in red gingham from Warehouse, cat eye sunglasses, rattan basket bag (both of them from eBay) and…. old but trusty flip flops. 🙂 Plus something small I bought and show you later. Still in the Castle District, this is the beautiful Matthias Church with its Zsolnay tiles, which you can already remember from this post. Btw we ate lunch here in the place Piknik if I remember correctly, and would recommend you too, if you like eating under big tress in summertime as I do.And more outfit pictures, because I enjoyed this dress a lot. It’s also fool cotton, which is the
first second this summer. Where are all the cotton/linen summer dresses really? And more…A bit better photo of the bag, effing love this bag, no matter how overexposed it is at this point, because there is a reason for that anyway, and now I almost want another one…yay, even though I really shouldn’t, or should I?Returning to Budapest like… 🙂Even better photos of my bag. I mean <3<3<3.Peek-a-boo view, love every details of it.When I don’t stand in the way, the view is like this ugly. 😛The Fisherman’s Bastion have always been one of my favourite bits here. Looking back, we used pictured a countless time to buy a flat here, next to the castle, preferably with a view of the Danube. Ok, daydreaming is over, but at least I can spot a tiny bit of the Thames right now. If there is no horse, a donkey will do, just kidding. My favourite outfit photos while there, if you were wondering, with less Havaianas and more 50’s like glamour and amazing backdrop. This bit reminds me of Gondor’s white castle a bit actually, but I might be wrong. 🙂And then the orcs. 🙂 The guy on the right is actually a Busó, whom purpose is to scare winter or Ottoman troops (they’ve been there for 150 years at that point!) away, whichever you prefer. That smile, I felt intimidated already. Although I bet he did too.Matthias Church from a different point of view.Old houses in the Castle District, you can buy one of these if you can an live here if you fancy, really. And this is the end of it, we went to Moszkva (Moscow) Széll Kálmán Square from here, which you really don’t want to see (and won’t either, because the nicest building there is under restoration, meh), although it’s freshly renewed. It’s not that interesting anyway. 🙂
Phew, this post got longer then I’d expected, but there is so much to tell you about this amazing city. I cannot suggest it enough to go there. 🙂
But now I’m off, it’s long weekend here which I totally forgot about, and when realised again I was like yaaay, looooong weeeekend! So enjoy yours too!
