I know, I know, another pair of jeans, but hear me out, I have a pretty good excuse. This pair was on 50% discount and also, this is a different style, namely the Ultra High Rise. But it’s not just the rise id different, actually that’s pretty the same than the usual simple High Rise (what I wear ALL the time), although the back rise is longer for sure. Anyway, other difference is the rather straight fit, which makes it almost like an identical vintage pair.
I have to say, I was a bit afraid of the ultra high rise, because I’m the girl, who always has problems with the gaping waistlines, but in this case I shouldn’t have been worried at all, because this time the W25 size really means that, therefore it sits perfectly. I’m suspicious the problem usually is the length of the rise, which on me is quite short, therefore it cannot sit where it was designed to, or whatever, but it’s a problem with every effing brand. Also, finally I can share my experience what if you order a pair from their actual site (from LA). As usual, there is some pros and cons, but if you’re a huge fan like me, you’re familiar with the sizes and the coveted item is on half price discount, it’s worth all the cons for sure.
1, So pro is the price of course which was cheaper with all the taxes and duties counted. The worldwide shipping is free in theory, but as I live in London I had to pay some taxes (this time it was around £20). I’m not sure how is it calculated exactly, but Re/Done does that calculation and everything else for you anyway.
2, Another pro is you see what you get, which is important because on every other site they do that for you.
And then the Cons:
Paying taxes is never a good thing, but besides that, there is only one downside, which is the length of the delivery. Probably because it’s ‘free’ it can take up for 2-3 weeks.
So you pay online and gets a message if your order was successful. The dispatch usually take 2 working days, but once it’d one you get another message about it. After that, you have to wait, for me it was 2 weeks. Once it got here and the local courier picked it up (in my case DPD), you get another message it’s on its way which you can rearrange if nobody can sign the delivery.
And that’s it. I have no experience with returns, I suspect it can take a lot of time too, but if it’s not perfect, there is still some options, either getting tailored or selling, if the price was that good, probably it would be still worth the money and/or effort.
I hope this helps if you’re wondering whether it’s worth to order from the US. And now go and check out the sale bit, there is still some goodies there, yumm!
