There is a lot going on in fashion world recently, somebody (like Proenza Schouler or Rodarte) skips pre collections in order to present his main thing sooner on the couture calendar, while others skip the whole thing once and for all(?) like Vetements, saying they have been there, done that, was enough, thank you very much.
Going with the flow (or against it, who knows at this point) Scognamiglio ditched Paris to present his collection in his Milanese atelier, saying; “I wanted to concentrate more on couture’s real values: the personal relationship with my clients, who need privacy and attention; the unique creativity that goes into every outfit. Couture must remain the undiluted peak of craftsmanship.” And honestly, who can argue with that?
Probably his clients appreciated this attitude too, after all who doesn’t like special attention and privacy in this mad (fashion) world of ours, especially if we have enough money to afford couture? I’m curios whether other couturiers will follow his steps, even so because it seems S/S RTW collections will occupy the summery months.
Only time can tell, but until then, here is this beautiful artsy photography and unique dreamy collection with the statuesque Hilary Rhoda. The white dresses are nothing but wonderful. Worthy ending for this exciting couture season for sure.
I’m off for now, happy Friday for you all!
