Oh, what a nice alliteration in that title, right? Haha, sometimes I wonder how can I remember such ‘unnecessary’ things and forget much more important ones at the same time, but that’s just life I guess. Anyway, the point is, because I’m still in a very summery mood, and of course because sales are on, I keep buying stuff once in a while.
You maybe know at this point, I don’t care so much about sales. If I don’t want something, I’ll never want to have it (probably), doesn’t matter if it’s on 70% sale. On the other hand, classics are more like clever bargains, especially for somebody like me :).
So, not so long ago, after years of humming and hamming, I bought my very first pair of Supergas on sale, and I kind of fell in love with them. I wanted the simple classic white first, but those weren’t available, so I had ordered the full white ones, but exchanged them right away, because they were well, way too white. You know the rest, now I’m a happy owner of these tomato red cuties.
But! my craving for simple white sneakers however, went nowhere, and there is only one simple reason for that. White is way easier to style, or better said, it’s a no brainer when you have to get dressed, but have no idea what to put on. And this was the point when I came across with these dirty white Supergas.
Ok, I looked up for them, but the point is my initial problem with white shoes suddenly disappeared, because 1, these are not full white, more like dirty off white with the classic red S logo (yes, that tiny bit of red makes all the difference) and tan soles, and 2, they’re a bit worn down by default.
And if that’s not enough reason, they were on 40% discount on Amazon. And for £30 I think this is a great buy, even so, because it’s not tied to trends or seasons. Not here in the UK at least except for few too cold or way too rainy days, which means money well spent! 🙂
I wanted to show you this bag as well. Now, I don’t show every ‘bad or questionable at least’ purchase here on the blog, but this is an exception. This is a nice bag after all. And the reason I pulled the trigger eventually, that it wasn’t expensive, especially compared to some other similar basket bags.
But I’m still not sure I want to keep it, and that’s always a bad sign. One of the reasons is, the quality is not the best. It’s not that bad, but there is some plastic tie bits inside which don’t look good at all. But this is the smaller issue, my bigger issue that it doesn’t seem practical. You cannot tell from the pictures, but the top/front, basically lid part of the bag opens all the way down whilst wearing and there is no lining and pocket whatsoever, which means I have to be extra careful with it. And that’s not a good thing for me at least, especially when I’m in a hurry.
Probably I’m gonna send it back soon, so it will be available again (look for rattan straw round bag on ebay.co.uk), so if you like it and you’re not that concerned what I wrote above, then it could be a great buy.
In the meanwhile I’m happy for my new shoes, so yeyy!
What do you think?
