Probably this is not the first or the last time when I mention this; I love what Ulyana Sergeenko does. The first socialite then couturier knows exactly what women want. She is not or the last though among designers, but what she does is always remarkable.
Her newest collection is all about the 30s and 40s gangster movies and Femme Fatales, and it could be a repertoire of costumes for a movie easily, but also, probably, couldn’t be more modern or desirable. That whole red outfit on the featured image is just to die for, from the beret through the red lips to the dress itself. And then I haven’t mentioned the accessories, like asymmetric bullet earrings, gun pins, gloves or those boxy doctor bags.
I’m seriously in love and this is the biggest inspiration I’ve seen for a while and happy once again she decided on lunching her own brand. Ok, I admit, I love this era, the mood of all film noir films and most importantly the complexity of the true antiheroine (just look at this), but it was Ulyana who made this happen anyway. So here is a big ‘Thank You’ for her.
I feel this is the perfect end of this week, even though I couldn’t process what has happened with Chester Bennington yet. RIP, your music will stay with us forever. 🙁
