I was so into looking for affordable trendy pieces, that totally forgot about this post which I prepared the day the show was presented. Probably because I’m (and I guess we’re) more into summer than fall, and I can’t blame myself.
Anyway, here we go with this late Céline pre-fall collection, and we can say it; Phoebe Philo was thinking outside the box again. This is exactly why we love her, and she more than not can deliver. This time long lines, boxy shapes, monochrome outfits and most notably half shoes (basically only the big toe is covered) with or without stockings.
I say notably, because this item is probably the ugliest, avantgarde pair of shoes I’ve ever seen, therefore it will be a big hit among show goers and fashionistas. At this very moment I cannot imagine more impractical footwear (ok, maybe long boots with peep toes, wtf?), but high fashion was never about practicality, but creating something fresh and interesting, even controversial. And she did that exactly. Again.
What do you think this controversial shoe trend?
