Since we’ve had this beautiful bright spring weather I’m really in the mood to buy warmer weather appropriate stuff. It started with accessories, but now I have those, I’m more into clothes, especially tops, and dresses as I always have issues in these areas. The other day I was in Westfield as I had some spare time, and though I have a look around, you know, because it’s proper spring now, stores have more and more good stuff.
And finally I ended up getting this dress. As you know I’m in the pursue of buying a summer dress, and even though it’s not wrap style, I loved it. I had bought it with the intention to give a bit of thought at home, see how it works, but then I realised it’s not for me, so I retuned it. As I said earlier, I want something with a bit more coverage, and this one has no back basically. It’s still pretty though, so if you like it, go for it for 30 GBP.
Anyways, while I returned it, I gave a try these ballerina shoes. Probably I don’t have to mention, I have a thing for red right now, and since I’ve started wearing my ballerinas from last year (as I only have mules, duh), I pulled the trigger. These go on the same price as the dress, so it was a simple exchange in the end.
Actually I’ve seen these a few times already, but my mind was full with a similar pair by Topshop. But, while the Topshop ones felt a tad big (my heels slip off constantly from the one with my usual size :(), these are great, having a more almond shaped toe (along with a nicer price tag), which I find more flattering. Also they remind my very first Zara items, a pair of red ballerina shoes from lots of years ago which I wore to death. Oh, the memories…
Btw I wore a Zara jacket, Brandy Melville tee, H&M shirt, Re/Done jeans, Vans shoes and Balenciaga bag, but more about it later.
This floral dress is from Topshop (around £30) and it’s great as it’s red, has ruffles and short sleeves, but no wrap style and way too short length due it’s from the Petite section. It was the only available in my size (XS). It’s not bad, but not the one yet.
Some gingham blouses in blue and pink (£30 each). Love the fabric, the statement sleeves and V neck, and even though blue is not really my colour, I went with that one, as usually pink is even worse and my more fiery hair shade makes nicer anything anyway. 🙂
Other blue blouse in Mango with lacing. This one was nice on the hanger, but a bit off on me, so there I left. I tried one of the corset tees too, and I love this idea more, than the separate corset, I mean the hassle it comes when you have to put on, but even the small was so big, I couldn’t make it work on my waist, and the £30 price seemed a bit over the top.
And finally I’ve had my eyes on these linen pants (love these kind of lightweight pants in the summer), I grabbed the chance to try them on. The fit and fabric are great, but what I was afraid of, became a fact, it’s way too see trough. I think it’s better to stay with something khaki.
Found these slippers (£40)! I know I know, what I said above, but I love slippers. God, I love everything which cannot give me blisters. Plus they have a short vamp, which on one hand, are so nice, with less coverage and hence leg lengthening effect, but on the other hand it doesn’t make walking and especially hurrying so easy. But I love these, need some time to think, I guess…
…which I had very little in the end, but I looked around in H&M too. I saw this basic white tee online, so I tried it on. Don’t know about you, but I find it hard to find a nice and cheap basic tee, but this one looked great. Not too big, not too tight (this is the XS on me), not too see trough, with 100% cotton and with a 7 quid price tag!
And finally a basic shirt with coral stripes for only 15 quid. This is actually available in green, blue and dark grey as well, but this one seemed the best. Again the fabric and fit (XS I think) is good, but I had not more time to think about it, so I left H&M empty handed in the end. I think I’ll go back and buy the tee for sure, and probably try the slippers and this shirt once again. I don’t know, hesitating is usually not a good sign when it comes to clothes or accessories but will see. I’m still thinking about the shoes, addicted!
What do you think?
