We have a saying in Hungary; who loves flowers can’t be a bad person. If it’s true, I’m a very good person :). Ok, it’s more like inherited, as I was growing up among a lot of flowers and plants, even though we lived on the 4th floor in a rather small flat. My classmates always knew when they arrived to our floor. It used to be so green everywhere, they called it jungle. If we wanted to surprise our mother we couldn’t go wrong with a nice potted plant and she never ever came home from the market without a pot (or two).
I just notice who deeply I got this thing with greenery, I’d love to buy one or two pot every time I go to the Sainsbury’s or Ikea. Of course it’s not an easy thing, our flat is even smaller what my parents have and Mushu is all over for greenery too, well, to eat them, especially if they’re more palm like with long thin leaves.
That’s exactly one of the reasons why I ended up loving succulents, cactis and everything which have thick beefy stalks and leaves. The other reasons are; they look good, and they get along with less watering. Btw my favourite ever plant is probably the Zamia due its modest needs, that’s why dark malls love it too.
I always say if you are broke down, but would love to cheer your apartment/dormitory room/whatever a bit, get a nice but modest potted pant. It’s one of the easiest yet cheapest ways to do so, but it gives a lot to the mood.
My dream is to have a big balcony full with boxes of greenery, geraniums, table and chairs (plus a bee hotel :)), to enjoy it when good weather comes, but sadly our present balcony is so windy most of the times, I’m scared for the pants and everything else in advance. Maybe later, until then I keep collecting these nice little indoor plants, I will find a place for them anyway, at least this is what I’m telling us :).
Do you love plants as much as I do? Which one is your favourite?
