So because spring is coming or it’s already here, decide on whatever is closest your state or mood, I’ve got in the mood to look up for spring clothing and accessories. I visited the stores before and after our trip to Paris, so the first time was more about buying things which wouldn’t get soaking wet, but the rest of it was looking up the newest offerings. So lets see everything.
But first things first, here is some details of my outfit, which btw was the exact same that I wore on the train to Paris. It’s simple, trendy but comfortable with my purple hoodie, cropped Re/Dones and snake skin ankle booties, black bomber and bag.
I bought these black boots, which almost look like the Acne Jensen ones, but with slant heels and more reasonable price tag. Btw they fit the purpose perfectly, they got a lot of rain, but there was no wet feet at all. On a more practical note, the leather is pretty stiff, so I had to break them in, which resulted a nasty blister on the first day (the same day I bought them :)), but after a day off, on the second wear they wear fine.
I tried this jumper because of the great tomato red colour, didn’t buy it though, as it felt unnecessary and I’m happy I didn’t because it would be too hot for now.
This is not so much a spring but, a more basic one. Although I always get in the mood to buy black skinnies in the warmer seasons, God knows why, I didn’t buy them. Maybe I don’t like skinnies on me anymore, or just that fact that they’re black, and lately I’m avoiding this colour when it comes to clothes. On the other maybe if I find good ones, with a good price, I’ll buy them. I keep my eyes for sure.
So as you can see I started to wear the new booties to break them a bit, haha, love how sharp they look btw. Anyway, the last things for the day were these more spring proper shoes with gingham print and slant heels and which I think now are sold out, because, you know, they’re Zara. If it hadn’t been a massive line at the till, I would bought them too, they felt pretty comfortable with the textile fabric and mid heels, but whatever.
This already happened after the trip, spring has sprung and retails suddenly changed all of their stuff prioritising everything warmer weather appropriate. Somehow I feel the need to buy a not so basic blazer as I sold my old one. I found this and adored how structured it is, but they were way too heavy and didn’t even have lining. I was chewing a lot on this one, but didn’t bite the bullet eventually.
Something is going on between black and me lately, although I’ve never liked this colour on the top on me. Probably my obsession over colours and seasons and the dress for your type thingy. But I cannot live without a black blazer, can I?
Moving on. There is a lot of denim jackets everywhere, and I’ve got inspiration for Canadian tuxedo, so I tried some on. I saw this one on one of the mannequins, but couldn’t find this specific one anywhere among the dozens of stretchy ones. As it turned out it was hided one floor up in a full different section. It’s really good, has the most basic fit and colour, 100% cotton fabric and a very reasonable price (£35), so there was no question about this. Cannot wait to rock it.
Mango is really on the top of its game, they have a really nice and simple neutral collection right now, plus other goodies too. The first tore is from the before mentioned collection and it’s made of 100% organic fabrics, which is good, but has nothing inside. I can only imagine the never ending minutes while I would be trying to find my keys or mobile in there.
The smaller shoulder bag was a nice one though, but maybe I like it so mach because it went pretty well with my leather jacket. Anyway, probably I think this over, but I couldn’t stand dark stains on it from rubbing to my jeans which I wear almost exclusively. Bah.
I bought the sunnies though. You could already see them on Insta Stories. Actually I wanted to buy another pair, the aviator ones with red/orange/pink coloured glasses, I’ve been longing for one so long, but it seems Mango haven’t figured out how to make it properly, and all of them has teeny-tiny spots on them, which would drive me crazy for sure. Anyway, these are better because of the cat eye shape, and the tortoise frames, and simple brownish lenses, so basically because of everything in them.
As I said above, searching for high rise black skinnies is not over yet, and tried these two in Zara. One of them with exposed buttons on the fly, the another one, well, that’s a simple pair of skinnies really. I didn’t buy them, but I keep them in mind, because they aren’t bad at all, especially the more basic ones.
Peekaboo vintage (Topshop basement)
Went a stroll in Topshop too, I’m always intrigued about its shoes, but didn’t find anything this time. I found, however, these two vintage bags. The one on the left is a pretty Chanel like, with all the flap, quilting and chains, but I was wondering whether it’s too ladylike for me. The one on the right has a beautiful burgundy colour and saddle shape, and almost bought it only because of the colour, but I didn’t. I’m still waiting for the perfect burgundy bag I guess, and when I see it, I’ll know that’s the one. But if you like them they’re maybe still there in the Topshop basement waiting. 🙂
Ok, blimey, this post has got a bit longer, than I planned, and I didn’t take too much pictures, just what got my eyes for some reasons. Anyway, hope you find it useful or at least entertaining.
