Fashion week ended but that doesn’t mean I have posted everything. I let this show for last, because even though it was presented in London in the middle of fashion month, it has nothing to do with Fall/Winter. Yes, I’m speaking about Burberry almost radical step, to skip a season in order to present one which is right on time.
While for example the revolutionary brand Vetements decided to move their show a few months early, Cristopher Bailey for Burberry opted for the ‘see-now, buy-now’ model, which is so far so good, meaning it’s quite the success. People don’t want to wait up to six months anymore, they want to have the latest trends right here right now. At this point, I’m wondering whether another brands will follow them or Vetements or stay where they are with all the four (S/S, F/W, Pre-Fall and Cruise) collections in every year, but it would be nice to have a consensus, because this is crazy, I tell you.
Anyway, the timing couldn’t be more perfect, spring just has arrived to London and probably everywhere on the Northern hemisphere, and I can’t stand the thought of wintery thick jumpers, coats and boots anymore (yes, it’s nice to buy something heavily discounted, but I still refuse to spend money on something which can’t be worn for months). Instead lets play with the idea of bare legs (with sock boots!), lightweight shirt dresses, asymmetric tops and think trench coats a la Burberry.
YAY! It’s spring, it’s spring! I wasn’t aware how much I’ve missed it until now. But maybe this time I can avoid that terrible dressing rut. Happy days! 😀
