OMG! PFW just started and we already have one of the strongest collection from Anthony Vaccarello who is spending his second season at the French fashion house, Saint Laurent. This collection has everything what it has to. It’s amazing, I don’t know when I’ve felt this craving which hit me when I saw those slouchy and extra squishy leather boots.
I couldn’t even pick 8 looks, but for my excuse, the collection was huge from 106 individual looks. As far as I know, only Gucci sent more on the runway with its impressive 120 (and probably Chanel will be close), but it’s a great number nonetheless. Ok, few of them were the part of the men collection, and truth to be told not all of the things were that good, but it doesn’t work like that anyway, and the amount of really extra super good is nothing less, but wow.
Fans can be satisfied, Vaccarello stayed true to Hedi Slimane’s heritage with the sexy edgy style influenced by the 80s with all of that buttery leather, (extra) mini skirts, one shoulder dresses and big frilly flowery details, and with some more gentle touches from the 70s via the tawny hues and mesmerising turquoise. On the other hand, this collection was a tad closer to the original Yves Saint Laurent, which means the new designer wanna keep balancing or pretty slowly goes back to the origins. Interested to see which one is going to happen.
This was a great great collection (although nothing really new), fashion girl will love it and it’s now super official; I need a pair of high boots in my life (Topshop, Zara?), I’m already afraid of the price… Anyways, J’adore!
