PFW has started finally and how! This is ‘only’ the warm-up with fresh designer Simon Porte Jacquemus, but it instantly brought me in The Mood. That French/Parisienne mood if you will. It’s chic, it’s avant-garde, it’s a bit retro, it’s very elegant and feminine with a nicely tailored twist.
Elegant and feminine are not the first words which comes to my mind when I think of Jacquemus, even though they’re always present, but this collection was exactly that, above everything else. The first clue was the light powdery pink runway, which gave a nice surrounding to the mostly neutral looks. The second was the clothes and accessories themselves.
Lot of nicely tailored suits, blazers and capri pants in mostly black and white went along, but leave it to the French designer to serve some excitement too, which came in the form of board, puffer shoulders, nipped in waists, ruched pants, asymmetric cuts, interesting hats, huge buttons, boxy heels and ladylike bags from micro to medium size.
Do you see yourself wearing capri trousers? I definitely see myself wearing the first suit. 🙂
