Well, it’s not easy to find the right words… I had to go back and forth with this collection to understand it more. Chewing and digesting it again and again like a cow who is a bit confused because although she loves that stuff usually, now it tastes a bit funky.
If you know what I mean. If you’re confused enough that’s not accidental. I’m confused too, because it doesn’t matter how much I love JW Anderson, this collection feels a bit funky. A bit overcooked I guess. And yet, there is something in it which – have no idea why – I like, which I wanna understand, therefore I went back over and over again.
And here we are, confused but intrigued which btw probably the idea itself. The designer said: “We cleared the slate and then built up the layers again. It was also about couture edges that could be morphed or destructed, feathers meeting denim-drill or a cotton-canvas. Things that shouldn’t really work.”
And quite frankly they do not work. But this is exactly what makes it interesting, memorably unique and desirable, and this is exactly why fashion girls, and most importantly his fans are gonna love it. Oh fashion, sometimes you make absolutely no sense, but we love you anyway, just the way you are.
What do you think? Just fine or a bit over pushed?
