So first things first, let me clear one thing. I have absolutely no idea what is the big fuss about Kanye West, except maybe for his endless ego and the fact he knows well how to make the fuss (this time with the no photo, no social media rules for example). I don’t like his former nude collections either, but on the other hand, Anna Wintour and a lots of people seem to like all of his work, so who am I to judge?
Plus I quite like this one. Ok, the inspiration source is pretty obvious with all the light washed denim, hoodies, tracksuits and oversized jackets and over the knee boots, but this is the direction now, and he’s not the only one who hopped on the bandwagon. At least, this direction is solid which means we don’t have to change our content of our wardrobe so often, therefore we can be grateful enough.
Kanye’s ego or not, this collection is a step forward and I have no doubt the Kardashian klan, and therefore everybody else – who can afford – will happily wear these clothes (or something similar from Urban Outfitters), and why not when it’s a pretty good collection from the colours to the snake skin boots? The colour scheme and styling are on point as well, maybe Kanye got some tips from – among others – his sister-in-law. 🙂 Anyway, I wouldn’t mind some of the tops, jackets and boots so I’ll give that credit to him.
NYFW is done, London is on the go. See you there!
