Scandinavian Fashion Week came to an end and New York Fashion Week is on the go already, but before we go further, here is my last review by Malene Birger, and once again the inspiration source is uncanny. It’s between negligent and elegant, minimalist and edgy at the same time with all the seasonal hit colours like red, burgundy, rusty brown and weird cool blues.
The newest top direction, after athleisure, is clearly femleisure, having more fem than leisure this time, therefore most of the clothes can be used in an office too, but because of the styling and certain pieces, they have only fashion purpose, you know attending here and there where dressing wants to show how trendy we are.
This is not a problem, if somebody has a good eye for fashion or doesn’t have to get dressed by a dressing code, but I feel a lot of people can struggle with what the hell should I wear question to be office appropriate and fashionable at the same time, especially because the tailoring is getting more extravagant too. Just look at this collection!
This only came up because, although I love this collection and I’m allowed to wear what I want, it would be strange to wear suits and mostly elegant wear on a simple weekday, even though when they look like comfy as well. And that’s a bit confusing. Even for me.
Luckily trends are more like guide lines, we have enough time to digest the newest trends and we also have some celeb and/or model and/or blogger to lead the way. But if this is not enough yet, one thing is certain; the trend of mixing different kind of things, colours and loose/sharp tailoring is going nowhere, therefore our option is pretty limitless. And this approach sounds much better to me. What about you?
PS: I’m wondering though; if every designer uses the same inspiration, when will we get bored enough with all of it? And what does this mean if I asked already?
