It’s not easy to determine what the heck is going on here – but probably it has something to do with the current crappy weather and feeling sickish. And yet, it’s pretty good. I mean this collection. Actually it’s the first good thing all day which almost hits an end, while having absolutely no idea what I’ve done today except for sleeping.
Anyway, it’s no secret that Stella has it. Has something similar like Phoebe Philo, but still a bit different adding a meaningful intention to use only animal friendly products like faux leather and fur (with a rather ridiculous price tag if you ask me, but that’s a different story). The design is nice enough and fresh with new ideas, or at least fresh combos.
First of all, there is the subtle piercing details, which isn’t exactly that new (looking at you J.W. Anderson with your piercing bags, which btw would be a nice addition to my wardrobe, but anyway…), but when it comes to more elegant and tailored clothing it’s still something which I’ve never seen before. And it’ll be a thing among fashion girls, mark my word.
Then we have all these tone-in-tone, rather oversized outfits with interesting colours like moss green, tomato red, fuchsia and burgundy. Then the quirky details like the fringes, check and argyle print. And how on earth she was able to create that huge handsome faux leather coat without using actual leather is beyond me, but it’d probably explain those above mentioned price tags.
And then I haven’t mentioned the white boots like a delicious cherry on the top. Ok maybe there is a bit Demna Gvasalia here and Phoebe Philo here and there, but this is a good Stella McCartney collection anyway, isn’t it?
