Sorry about writing the same topic over and over again, but I’m hooked. And the purpose is quite clear here too as finally I found my new winter coat. And blazer, but it was a lucky, not so intended find.
So this was my outfit of that day. We were invited to have a late/early joint Birthday dinner and it was the perfect occasion to wear my new tweed trousers, patent boots and velvet bralette. What a trend oriented winter mix, right? Btw my coat is an old find from &Other Stories and the turtleneck from Zara.
Here is two better pictures, having taken my coat off. These pants are really comfy and stylish. I was a bit afraid I won’t feel myself good in them, but adding some edge with the zipper velvet bralette and patent boots, everything was fine.
I tried this coat (along with the similar Mango one) so many times, but I just couldn’t love it unconditionally. The fabric and pattern would’ve been fine, but it’s too long and big, I felt totally overwhelmed by it.
And finally I had the chance to try these vinyl pants on. Not that because I wanted them so badly, but mainly because of curiosity. I have to say I was quite surprised. They’re pretty true to size and there was no awkward bits, I felt like a true Catwoman, but I just cannot imagine how these can be comfy. They’re so rigid and warm and noisy, so so unpractical that there’s no way I’d give money for them. My simple (faux) leather pants will do I guess. Anyway, I don’t mind trying them on, at least now I know and you too. 🙂
Zara Part I
Next stop was Zara, as I still had some time left, and this time I didn’t regret it at all. I found this coat and finally a tartan coat which wasn’t overwhelmingly big, pretty soft and not too pricy either. I couldn’t buy it that day though, I didn’t have enough time, but the thought was set and at least I had a bit more time to think about it…
Zara Part II
So the other day I went back. To Oxford Street this time, as I had to pick up my tapered jeans from the Levi’s Taylor Shop (more about that later). This time I wore my frilly jumper by H&M and the same patent booties by Topshop (they’re excellent with everything :)), along with my bomber jacket and Re/Done jeans.
It was my intention to wear these jeans because
I love wearing them I wear these the most, and if the coat hadn’t worked with them, it would’ve been an absolute deal breaker. But no (what was I thinking? :P), they’re just fine, actually I love the contrast between the worn down denim and the more sophisticated tweed.
I tried on some scarves too. Ok, maybe a bit more check print would’ve been too much, but I liked these ones. I wasn’t convinced though. These are huge and it’s not cold enough out. Plus a bit pricey for a full acrylic fabric, it was soft though. Maybe in January?
And finally this great blazer. If you remember I have a similar one with houndstooth print from Zara and I love that one too. The longer fit, the wool blend fabric, the ruched sleeves, the warmish colour, everything. I think this one will be a faithful companion for years to come.
So eventually I bought the coat and the blazer, both of them in Zara, and I’m so happy with both of them. It could be a bit colder to wear them though, but actually that won’t stop me I guess. 🙂
What do you think of my latest purchase?
