If you know me or have been following my blog for a while, you know usually I don’t do beauty posts, and that’s because I don’t care too much when it comes to beauty products. I’m the person, who
is lazy enough believes natural beauty is the best, come what may. That’s why I don’t colour my hair or don’t do too much make up (or at all) or nail polish for that matter.
But then I came across with these John Freida Brilliant Brunette in-shower lightening treatment, and I couldn’t resist. Yes, maybe I prefer natural so I don’t colour my hair, but sometimes I want something different, but not too different, mainly something easy to do. And this stuff promised what I wanted on a rather affordable price.
I bought the Visibly Brighter shampoo and the Brilliant Brunette lightener, but a hair conditioner is available too, if that’t your thing. Usually I don’t like or use these things, because I firmly believe they hurt more than help. But that’s just me and my hair which is stubborn as it is, so don’t care about it. 🙂
All right, so the pont is, it was super easy to use these things. I followed the instructions basically and I was done in 20 minutes. First of all, I wet my hair and put on the lightener. You can see from this picture, but it’s a dual tube which contain two kind of liquids. I pour some on my hand and spread it on my hair from the roots to the ends. I left it on for 5 minutes.
It’s kinda smelly as it contains some peroxide, but I’m pretty sure it’s an amount which cannot really hurt your hair too much if you follow the instructions, that’s one of the reason I went with it. I also don’t wanna get in the ‘going to the hairdresser every month to die my roots’ rout, and I knew the change wouldn’t be so big to became an issue later.
After 5 minutes, I washed it off and washed my hair with the shampoo as usual. This one smells much nicer, it’s a bit perfumey and has a weird golden/greeny/coppery colour, but no peroxide, so by itself it won’t change the world for sure, but hair wash is not optional, so I guess it (and again the conditioner) could worth the try if you’re curious.
For reference this was my hair before this treatment. I took these pictures after I got my new and beloved hair cut a month ago. Can you beleive it happened a month ago? Yeah, me neither.
And this is the result. As you can see, the difference is pretty slight and massively depends on the lights too, which makes me think, the shampoo has some kind of reflective suff inside which makes your hair shinier. So now it’s a tiny bit lighter, a bit brighter, but I never had dark brown or dull hair anyway. I’m happy about the result though, and keep using the shampoo for a while now and will see what happens. Maybe I’ll try this lightening treatment once more after few weeks again. I let you know if I did. 🙂
What do you think? Can you see the different? Or it’s just me?
