Ellery came and managed to be one of the best and most reliable brands. Reliable in the sense, that it always provides a good, predictable performance in the best possible way. You know, who you can count on when it comes to interesting but not too complicated fashion. I couldn’t say I don’t feel a bit of inspiration from here and there though (mostly Celine and Vetements of course). But that’s not a problem. At this point, as we knew there’s no new thing under the sun. The excitement comes from interesting, moreover, strange color/fit/fabric pairings, and none of them is usual here.
This collection is quite simple basically, closer to the minimalist end of the spectrum. What gives the flare to it though those are the statement sleeves, mermaid skirts, jodhpur pants, zipped or ruched details, reds, tans, neutrals and shiny leathers, silks and zips. So no, it’s not boring at all, but what I’m completely sold on, those are the shiny burnt orange velvet ankle boots. Something which could be worn over and over again, and not because they’re so trendy right now, but because they’re deliciously beautiful (and well, this most classic form doesn’t hurt either)
Ruched details and statement sleeves will be everywhere in spring/summer, are you ready for them too?
