If it wasn’t crystal clear so far, naturalistic peasant like dressing is the newest trend (look for more proof here and here). We shouldn’t be surprised however, as Stella McCartney was always the main representer of eco and animal friendly clothing, and that’s something I, personally, really really appreciate in her work. Not that I would buy her overpriced non leather bags (emphasis is on overpriced), but still, the goal is noble and kinda unique in fashion world.
The collection is all about organic linens, cottons and jute, in neutral and very natural, earthy colours like white, tan, denim blue, khaki and brown. These clothes are not sexy, not at all, but still feminine and comfortable with all the loose fit and lots of drawstring and ruched details which managed to give more defined silhouettes. Everything what a strong, conscious working women might want.
Everything were in perfect natural harmony, except for those small, not too harsh details in a form of vivid pointy shoes which look like got lost somewhere from the 80s, but liked this party so stayed. Not that these particular shoes wouldn’t go with these looks nicely anyway. Actually I think these are my favorite looks (the last two) from this show, pointy heels are still the best what could happen with wide leg pants, and McCartney is very well aware of this, what makes her not just a conscious, but great designer as well.
Are you ready to dress all natural?
