If I had to name the biggest trend, I’d say it’s sharp, unusual tailoring. After all, as I said before (and others before me :)), there’s nothing new under the sun (of fashion either). There’s nothing we couldn’t see before, but there’re unusual ideas, which can give something exciting to the indifferent eyes and mind. And Jacquemus is a good example for that idea, if we think of the latest F/W collection, or just look at this one.
The theme was the south of France (where the designer is from), but I couldn’t have said it actually. It’s not a problem of course, but if I think of France, not dark colors, sharply tailored lines and interesting white shirting come to my mind, but quite the opposite of these things.
But again, this is no problem, as I like what the designer did here, all the neutral color sheme, the before mentioned weird cuts, like the broad shoulders, puffa sleeves, ruched details and those fan like skirts too. Well, especially, those high waisted fan like skirts.
What do you associate the south of France with?
