If there is one collection which screams for summer, this one surely is. It’s rare and it will be even rarer with the rising of instant shopping. After all, why on earth would I buy something so summery at the dawn of fall? Right, I won’t. But this is how fashion has worked for decades and well, tradition is a bitch.
At this point I don’t really know what I think about these changes, and probably no one does. Sure, we have things which we don’t wear winter and vice versa, but in the end of the day we have one closet/wardrobe with clothes which can be worn no matter the season. And then it’s all about layering/not layering what we have that very point.
Probably I should think about these questions a bit more, but one thing is certain; I love nicely done, characteristic collections. And this one is a characteristic one for sure. Yes, it’s not on the vintage/reworked/deconstructed/fugly/maximalist bandwagon, but it doesn’t have to be. I doesn’t have to be, because instead of those uber trendy things, this one is feminine, nice and eternal. With pieces which can be worn forever and ever.
And a bit more. Simple neutral colors blended with beautiful teals, blues and yellows. Simple loosely cuts or accentuated waistlines, puffy sleeves, big golden earrings and sandals. Who could say no to these?
And one more thing is certain too; New York is on a roll this time.
