Speaking of the colors of autumn, the other
day week, or the one before it? – OMG, I’m totally loosing my sense of time. Anyway, some time ago I stumbled upon this little bag. It wasn’t planned, I mean, I wanted a smaller non black bag for a long time, but somehow I gave up, I guess. It must be true through; when you’re not seeking for something, it will find you.
Usually I don’t buy anything in M&S, it’s not the true fashion paradise after all. And still, here we are, it’s from there, and it’s perfect in my eyes. It has a nice and warm tan color, a big golden metalwork closure and a simple boxy shape, which instantly caught my eyes…
But if you know me, you know exactly, that’s not enough. A bag must fit my practical expectations (which you can read here) too, otherwise I won’t wear it. I won’t love it enough to keep it on the long term. Having this post, it will be no big surprise, this very bag passed.
Having approached it in the store (in Westfield if you’re curious), I instantly felt the soft leather which is always a good start in my book. I fell in love with the length of the strap too, which is shorter than my other bags’ (but still adjustable), so it can be worn under the arm which is more ladylike than the usual across the body style. So material, check, strap, check. I turned it and saw the outer pocket. Check again. I opened it, the closure is smooth (check), and inside it has even more pockets. Big check! Finally I took a look at the price tag. It was £79, which is not bad, given the fact, it’s a good quality bag with yummy leather and nice features.
It’s still unbelievable, but this bag – out from nowhere – fits everything what it has to be fitted. Actually, it was so surprising, I didn’t buy it first. It’s not usual, but this time I wanted to give myself some time and space to think whether I really need a tan bag. I went to take care of some business, but just couldn’t get it out of my head. Eventually I had to go back and you know, just go with the flow.
And guess what; I haven’t put it down since then. It came with me to the Wetland Centre, to the Hampton Court Palace and this weekend to Edinburgh too (so much experience to share with you!). I wear it with everything, moreover, I enjoy it. I really enjoy that it’s not black, but still go with everything.
I had to realise again; I love buying a (good) bag because it can be worn immediately (no wash needed), it can be worn on repeat, over and over again, every day, any day. It’s apologetic to your weight and won’t break your feet. It’s the ultimate accessory which can add something extra to any outfit without trying hard.
It was a worthy buy.
But where are my tan/cognac/brown ankle boots? 🙂
PS: unfortunately this color is out of stock online, but it’s still available in pale blue here.
