Oh, the beauties of the British summer… One day we have the brightest sunshine, the other day clouds and possibly even rain… I’m getting used to it though (after a year). 🙂 As I said it before, sartorial wise this is the best because I can mix and match everything which I didn’t do before.
In Hungary you can catch on fire in summer (means from 35 to 40 celsius degree) and freeze to death in winter (from 0 to -10), which means you can’t even think about what to wear to be stylish. You can only think how (not) to wear stuff and stay socially acceptable on the streets.
Of course I’m exaggerating, but I definitely couldn’t wear long (cropped but still long) jeans and slides. At least I didn’t do that. And now, look at me wearing them together, feeling totally comfortable in every way.
Or again, maybe I’m just getting older, accepting things what never before. Slides for example. I used to hate exposing my toes despite warm summers. It seems I had to move to the oceanic climate to love slides. Bizarre or what?
But I don’t care anymore. I’m wearing what I like wearing. And you know what? I like the feeling. I like feeling comfortable in my own skin and second skin, aka my clothes. So jeans and slides it is. And I’m gonna wear them again and again and again…
Sunnies – RayBan, tee – Topshop, jeans – vintage Levi’s 501, tote and slides – Mango
What do you think? Do/did you have stupid rules as well?
