If you thought my shopping fever (or vintage fever for that matter) was over, you’re wrong. I don’t know what’s going on with me exactly, but I was so in it, that I had to check every Urban Outfitters (and the basement of Topshop of course) in London. Well, ok not all of them, but the branches at Oxford Circus, Marble Arch (did you know that they have two stores on Oxford Street?), Kensington High Street and in Westfield too. I had intentions to look around in Covent Garden too, but that’s so far away, and if it possible I’ll avoid the Piccadilly line.
Not that four branches wouldn’t be enough, actually they were just enough, and I had some luck too. I found these vintage Levi’s denim shorts which have the perfect size, faded blue hue and length for £36, and this reworked green tee for £6! on sale. I suppose nobody else see the beauty of slashed and resewed vintage tee, I mean apart from me, but I love this mismatched solution on printed t-shirts and this green color is just gorgeous. It kinda reminds me of the Brazilian flag. 🙂
I found a bunch more of this kinda tee, and believe me when I say, I wouldn’t have left them in the stores, but they had either ugly, fluffy fabric or really ugly color. Who knew I have such high standards against a 6 quid vintage tee…
And the pair of Levi’s denim cutoffs. I was thinking on buying some for a long time, because I sold my previous ones as they were too big, too light and too short for my current liking, but it’s not easy to find the perfect ones, and also I prefer jeans with the original length. I also was hesitating a bit on doing it for myself, but I just couldn’t cut off the legs of my beloved jeans. Actually I almost feel sorry for these ones too. Lol.
Anyway, if you want vintage Levi’s anything in small sizes, the best place – as far as I know – is the UO in Westfield. I was able to find a few XS and there was basically nobody there. Ok, I admit, my shopping happened on a simple weekday, but compared to the store at Oxford Circus, it’s heavenly. Btw, the Marble Arch one was fine too.
And now I’m totally done for a while (till autumn? I wish…). I think I’ve reached of my limit in every sense, and now I will enjoy everything I bought. 🙂
