Having checked the shoes, I just had to look around a bit more. Because, you know, because why not. Also I said few posts ago, that I have some serious cravings for everything vintage, especially reworked vintage, so this time Urban Outfitters was on the list too, moreover, it was the first on that list.
And well, they can surprise me over and over again. Just look at the pictures below.
Ok, not these, this is my outfit of the day actually, with vintage tee, Mango parka, Levi’s 501s (what else?), Vagabond slippers and Zara mini tote. Comfortable, but hot, I definitely should’ve left the parka at home. 🙂
Anyway, when you think you cannot find more nice and classic Levi’s 501, you just stumble upon it. Murphy’s law I guess. Actually I thought these one would be big, based on the size on the label, but they turned out to be great. Great color, great fade, great hems and size. Just perfect.
Yeah, I tried everything which I thought small enough. Next time I definitely will go with a measuring tape, so I don’t have to try everything. 🙂 But back to these jeans. They were a bit big, but they would be great as a pair of boyfriend jeans. I didn’t buy these though.
But these! OMG, Vetements kind of deconstructed jeans made of vintage Levi’s. What a great idea? Every size was available, which led me the conclusion, they were playing with sizes. And why not? When you create a pair of jeans of two different ones, I guess, you can make whatever size you want. Especially because most of the vintage jeans are big.
Another good thing, they’re all unique. There were not two identical pieces. Some of them have high waist with button fly, the other one has dark inside, and light outside panel. And the list goes on and on. You have to check them carefully though. They’re pretty distressed and I tried one which had a twisted and wide leg, while the other was slim and fine. And there were no XS. Well, I found one, but it was labelled as an S. So the labels are good as a guidline but can’t be trusted at all.
I got luck with these XS/S ones, they’re perfect in size, have a fine length and the right colors (I prefer when the outer panel is the darker blue). If you’re really into these jeans, but not willing to pay the price of the real deal (I mean around 800-900 quid!, it’s just insane), these are more than great options. If you like the colors and not way too big, they can always be tailored. I mean if you happen to have a great tailor. And if you have – in London – pray, tell me! Thanks. 🙂
Anyway, I couldn’t be happier, and now I can start thinking which jeans I’m gonna sell in exchange. And oh, one more thing. I tried that Nirvana tee (£28) too, because it looked great, but as I said, at this point I rather buy a vintage piece, and the jeans were enough spending (these ones come with a heftier price tag with £60) for that day.
Having spent more than I intended originally, I looked around faster than usually. But it was still worth the time. 🙂
I found my older jeans with a darker color combo. These ones are also Vetements wannabe, though they’re made of thinner denim and the back is simple as it gets. I found the size tricky (XS was tight but S would’ve been huge) as well, but if you don’t want to spend so much (especially on vintage clothes), these ones have a nicer price tag with £40.
There are also new hoodies, I mean new colors, like this great yellow one. I was hesitating about this one a bit, because you know, it’s a hoodie and it’s yellow, also has a great price (£14), but it’s hard to buy hoodies when the temperature is 30 degree and ok, I chickened out a bit due to the color, so now I need some time to think about it. 🙂
Mango still has big sales and it’s getting more and more messy, but it’s still better than the situation in Zara.
There were new things too, like these gingham off the shoulder blouses. And I liked this Gucci like dress on the right hand side too. Not so much that I would try any of them though. 🙂
But I liked this trench coat for £60. It seems Mango has the best outerwear at the moment, as I could buy my newest parka (on sale) too. This one is truly great. It’s pretty thin and there is a drawstring in the waistline, which makes it nicer on than a usual one with a belt. I loved the color too, it’s somewhere between a yellowish-greenish khaki, just how I like it. If I hadn’t taken the parka, maybe I would have bought this one. It doesn’t have a hoodie though…
Phew… it was a long day, but it was totally worth it. And now I have to go to declutter my ever growing wardrobe and make some space to my newest treasures. 🙂
Thoughts about something? Anything? 🙂
