Mirror, Mirror on the wall, what’s the girliest color of them all? It’s pink, no biggie. Just imagine a baby girl suspiciously dressed in all soft pink and frills and bows in order to avoid all the misunderstanding. See? Pinks for girls and blues for boys. That’s the rule. Full stop.
I used to hate pink, I used to avoid it with all my power. I was/am more tomboyish than that, I’m more edgy than that, more rebbelent than that. Or on the other end of the scale, I’m more feminine than that. Reds and cats and no pinks and kitties. Ok, I could get along with nudes as well, not that I would’ve owned just one nude thing before. No way. But something is changing. The color of pink/blush/nude is growing over me. Maybe it’s just me getting older and wiser, accepting the fact, that a piece of strictly! pale pink or blush or nude something, anything won’t turn me a girly girl.
Moreover, it’s the perfect color to put against or purchase pinkies styled by something tomboyish/edgy/dark/deconstructed, something which is not girly at all. Sporty pink? Oh, yes. Minimalist nude? Yes, of course. Blush ballet beautiful? I’m sold. Especially pairing these with denim, leather, patent or anything black or red. Or Converse… ahh… Because of that balance thingy, right? I’m finally free and it feels good.
Oh, and did I mentioned how great is it with fiery red? Did I?
