So because I couldn’t finish my shopping tour the first time, and because I had other things to do in the City anyway, I took my chance to look around once more. After all, some things are worth to consider or to try more than once.
Anyway, this was my summery (well, British kinda summery :)) outfit of the day with an H&M shirt, COS belt, vintage Levi’s, TopShop backless loafers and Mango tote. A bit more elegant than usual, but still comfy and laid back.
I started at TopShop at once again with the strong intention to buy some nice shoes, which are not loafers or loafer slides. I love these, I really do, but I need something more feminine which also have a lower vamp and maybe higher heels. And possibly non black? Yeah, something non black (or white), but still easy to style. It’s really my Achilles heel (pun intended), as it should be as comfy as it possible, but my feet are easy to break…
First of all new ballerinas. I mean new colors are available, like this nude (an red and navy btw) one, which would be super good (more feminine, check, non black, check, easy to style, check, leg lengthening effect, also check), if my heels weren’t slipping out by every step. Too bad, as ballerinas (yet again) have a big moment right now.
The second try. Red (but also available in black and light grey) suede pointy sling back flats. I was hesitating about these quite a lot. I love the red suede, but still, it doesn’t go with everything, and I don’t know, but I guess £59 is a lot for them, isn’t it?
Then I tried these sandals too, but again, they’re black. The heels are almost too high too, but most importantly, I didn’t feel them on me. Despite of the higher heels, I don’t see they would make my legs any longer and probably they’re too much as well. Next!
Here you can see them better. They also available in white, but I don’t really like white shoes, but I did adore the simple snap clousure, which means, they’re easy to put on.
I tried on some blouse as well. These are from the TopShop basement which have the most unique tops as far as I know. These were on sale, and if I’m not mistaken, both of them cost £15 which is not bad at all. But the red striped one had really tight elastics in the bottom of the sleeves and the other one is a bit too girly for my taste.
But this! OMG, I loved this. I didn’t buy it though. Yes, I know, maybe I’m stupid, but my rational side just had to interfere. I mean the cost/use ratio didn’t seem that good, as it cost 50 quid!, which is pretty horrendous, and I don’t think I could or would wear it all the time. Such a shame though, but at least I realised, that maybe I don’t need a statement top in my life at all. Not such big statement anyway. Sigh…
Ok, I know what I said above, but I just couldn’t resist. This is already the Office Shoes department, and they have fresh new loafers. They’re similar to mine, but had a plus fabric under the metal pieces, which kinda reduces the tinkling sound they make. Btw these gold ones look super nice, but they would be too much for me probably. This gold color and not another pair of loafers. Ok, probably in that sense too. 😀
And finally some Celine look-a-likes, again by Office Shoes. Pretty comfy, yet elegant shoes, middle block heels, round toes, sling backs. Nice ones, but again, they’re black (and there are white ones too), and I don’t want to pay £65! for something which I don’t love entirely. 🙁 But at least I liked how they fit, they were really comfy.
Next stop was H&M, yes, you guessed it, to check the tops. I just can’t give it up, can I?
I found some off the shoulder tops with more reasonable prices (£20-30). Neither of them were bad, but I prefer long sleeves and shorter length. I was thinking about the second one, but finally didn’t pull the trigger. It was so long and almost tent like, which not what I want, as I need a summery top to wear with my vintage jeans.
A cold shoulder top and simple striped tee. None of these were good enough to pay the price, but looking back now, maybe I could’ve bought the tee. Not that I don’t have just enough tee already…
So this time I bought nothing. Nothing at all. I shouldn’t be disappointed because my previous shopping round was quite a success, but I still want a pair of nice shoes, and probably a nice top as well. Maybe next time.
What do you think? Do you like something from here? Should I buy that H&M tee? It looks quite good with those jeans, doesn’t it?
Happy sunny weekend!
