Believe or not, since we live here in the UK, we’ve never been in the countryside. I mean, Gatwick does not count I guess and Windsor is quite close to London. 🙂
But this time, when finally the sun was out (more or less) we got a Zipcar and traveled to Cambridge, not really knowing what to expect. We knew that it’s a small, but well known university city but well, nothing more. And when I think about an university city, Pecs and Szeged are the cities, which instantly pop my mind, which are charming too, but very, very different.
But it always turns out, it’s the best when you have absolutely no expectation. So did it this time.
Be aware! Picture overload! 🙂
When we’d arrived. I love when everything is green around us. This park was already a pretty good indicator, that we’re at the best place. And the River Cam with a lot of punting options, which we didn’t try this time (and maybe never will :)).
On one of the bridges and my outfit of that day. Nothing special, it had to be comfy, simple and weather appropriate. These Cortez sneakers are still one of the comfiest shoes, I have to say. But I start giving up the illusion, that I have a chance of keeping them clean.
Maybe now it’s obvious why we weren’t so fancy about punting… 🙂
But having left the bridge came the really good stuff. These streets, the buildings, the architecture, the whole mood is the city is superb, great, charming. Soooo goood!
I mean, just look at this gate. The towers, the windows, the statues, all the details. Not the things, you can see every day.
Two more outfit pictures, just because I love the door inception and you can get an idea of the proportions. 🙂 The little door was sized exactly to me. 🙂
The same building. I don’t know anything about them, we just wanted to inhale the whole historical mood of the city without thinking. Like children, but I take it on. 🙂
Sun-dial and medieval palaces like buildings everywhere…
The market place. Sorry about the photobomb in the left hand side corner, I’ve just noticed it. Haha. But this is life, isn’t it?
The building on the right hand side is the place of one of the banks. Fancy, ha?
Ahh…these are one of my favorites.
I cannot tell you anything else, so what about the guy in the Vetements like clothes? 🙂
It’s unbelievable, that you can go an look anywhere, everything is so pretty.
As I said, pretty, pretty, pretty.
And one of our friend said, that Oxford is even nicer. How on earth is that possible? We definitely must go there too. And I really want to go back to Cambridge as well and spend even more time, eat a lot of things on the market and enjoying the whole mood of it.
I hope I could give you just a fragment of it, but it’s even better if you visit it for yourself. It’s really worth the time.
Have a great Sunday!
