So to be completely honest when I saw those jeans in Bershka I just had to order them because I didn’t see when I would be able to go to check them myself. As you know, eventually I had managed to check them a few days later before I got the ordered package.
When I’m not sure in a size I always prefer to try it on over calculating the sizes and measures on the websites. Especially when the size chart is so confusing like the one on Bershka’s site. I just cannot comprehend that why oh why use they EU sizes for some products and British ones for others. Or at least the EU sizes would be clear.
Because here is what happened. I was totally confused and I didn’t want to order two sizes so I believed what the size chart stated that there are quite big differences between the sizes and the XS/6 would be too small. But as it turned out in the store they are not.
And because they cannot exchange things at online orders it was only logic to buy those jeans in the store. Of course the whole story is true to the denim skirt and the tee as well. So when I got home that day my first thing was to try canceling my order. But guess what, I couldn’t because of some error. And when I tried next they had already dispatched it.
So I got the package few days later and just in case tried everything on.
Here you have the jeans and you can see the difference clearly. They weren’t that bad actually they could easily go as loose fit boyfriend jeans. So my advice that if you want them to be oversized and more like a boyfriend fit, than go one size up.
The skirt wasn’t that bad either but its back stood out under my butt which I hate when it comes to skirts so it was an obvious no. But at least Mushu enjoyed the new clothes. I just cannot leave clothes on the floor or anywhere for that matter because his first thing to lay down on them. Cats… 🙂
And finally the dress. I have to say this was the only thing which was worth the try as I couldn’t do that in the store. Because it’s also a size S but it was just fine. And it was the only thing which I didn’t return.
About the not so easy return process
It’s pretty clear that Bershka’s online system is not so developed because I experienced some problem with the site, they couldn’t exchange sizes so you have to return the things and order them again, plus the parcel doesn’t come with a preprinted return label. I had had to fill the return page online and on an attached slip and then had to wait for their reply. The easiest way would have been the return in the store but for obvious reasons I chose home pick up. But when the reply arrived I could choose return by Royal Mail too which wasn’t mentioned so far. So eventually I had chosen Royal Mail, printed the slip and went to the local Post Office few days ago. I’m still waiting for the refund.
So Bershka is definitely worth to check out but more like in person. When you can try everything on and decide what you want and what you don’t want. Ordering online and returning is practicable but it’s pretty confusing and circumstantial. So if you can choose, choose the personal option.
