If you thought my love with vintage garments went away with buying new things, you couldn’t be more wrong. Something happened and my full admiration is still here. Of course it’s not for everything but now vintage clothing is placed on the same level like new retail things. I’m not sure what would happen if I had more money to buy designer things, but hopefully nothing as I still have my original attitude, which means some kinda comparing to how much we spend on food or on our rent for example. Or how much I have to save for how long without buying a single thing.
So I was planning for a while to buy a ‘new’ vintage t-shirt, summer dress or playsuit and a denim jacket but actually never pulled the trigger (he, speaking of cowboys, right? :)). But the last time while I was browsing the men section, I found this really cool Star Wars tee with rocking Luke, Leia and Han Solo, and thought it would be perfect for my hubby. I know, we’re helpless but at least we’re aware of it. 😛
When it comes to ordering something from there it worth to check more things. So eventually I went for this cool maroon-yellow tee, a pair of faded black mom jeans and ta-daa, finally! a cool ’80 style denim jacket with zipper details and cropped length. The last blue mom jeans are actually by eBay and I was curious how would they fit me.
I went for this tee only because of its color combination. As you know I was hunting for a yellow tee (or something) but never found the right one. However, I really like this one which has enough amount of perfect amberish/mustardy yellow. I was quite sure that the size would be right, so it wasn’t really a question whether I keep it or not.
However, these jeans were ordered because of pure curiosity. I really like my other Lee mom jeans from my previous orders and I was hoping that these ones have the same fit and size. But it turned out these are even more in the mom style category which means extra tapered legs. So I sent these ones back. 🙁 Too bad, because otherwise the faded black color and the size would have been perfect.
On the other hand, I love this denim jacket and I cannot believe I’m saying this and for years and years I could buy one. Love the color, the zipper details, the cropped length and the back detail, which you can see later. The size is good too and the £30 price was much more reasonable than the price of Levi’s one in Urban Outfitters, even though this one is not by Levi’s. But as you could learn before I don’t really care with brands if I like something.
And finally the eBay vintage mom jeans. Again, the color, size and would have been fine but I just didn’t like the extra tapered legs so these ones were returned as well.
If you’re wondering, the tee for my hubby turned out being too small (and too big for me) so we couldn’t keep it either. Too bad, but if you’re interested maybe you still can find it on Beyond Retro’s site. 🙂
So this haul’s result is 2 scores and 3 returns which is not so bad I guess, especially if we consider that now I have a nice and unique denim jacket which maybe will incite me to wear other things than jeans. 🙂
What do you think? Do you like my latest buys?
