And Alessandro Michele did it again. My first thing in the morning was to check his newest collection presented in the Westminster Abbey! and believe me it was better and stronger than drinking an espresso. Mind-blowing! An other feast for the eyes with every colors, prints, texture, layers, ruffles, embroidered flowers and animals, tartans, Union Jack, kilts, hoodies, tie dye jeans!, shoes with multi straps, white sporty socks, fishnet stockings, headscarves, interestingly weird combos, you name it. Phew… It’s grunge, punk, granny, girly, weird and classic at the very same time.
What I enjoyed the most that it’s look like that everything is from a cool vintage store and if you find the right items you can easily create similar but yet personal looks. And I bet a lot of fashion devotee will do. The other thing I love it’s the modern British punk influence which could be easily by Vivienne Westwood too, but it’s still very very Gucci. The love child of a British punk and an Italian granny I guess? Haha. Cool.
With Michele’s own words: “I love the English aesthetic; in a way I feel it is close to my own, a beautiful chaos, it is a powerful mix of the past and the present.” Amen to that.
And now I’m sure I shouldn’t have sold my tie dye skinny jeans years ago because they will be on the streets in a blink of an eye. But I still have my kilt, so maybe it’s time to take it out. Own personal style and vintage punk style here we come!
What do you think?
I think it’s Friday! Have a fantastic weekend!
