Finally, I’ve just arrived to write this post about these slippers/backless loafers call them whatever you want. Btw, is it just me or the names of shoe type are so confusing? I mean everybody call these shoes differently. Slippers, slip-ons, mules, backless loafers and so on. I refuse to call them mules because in my head mules don’t look like these, but on the other hand I get it, they’re shoes with high vamp and no back. I still prefer the term backless loafers as I think this one is the most accurate. Because these are basically loafers which have no back.
But back to the start. So many things happened in the last few days that I’m still trying to catch up with myself and I wanted to share this outfit post days ago. But again, it’s better later than never, isn’t it?
The weather keeps continue this on and off, but mostly off situation, which doesn’t give me too much possibilities when it comes to dressing up in the morning, so I keep sticking to my easiest and most beloved routine with a jeans – tee – jacket combo.
And I swear, I love these leather jacket and my khaki parka too but I’m seriously thinking about buying something else, you know, to have more variation at hand. But still don’t know what else. I can’t find affordable trench coats which I would like to wear and I’m still not sure in denim jackets. But I’ll keep my eyes open. Maybe something will come along when I expect the least.
But at least on the bottom front I have no problem at all. In the contrary actually. I’m so in love with everything at the moment that I want to wear everything. And to be completely honest, I don’t even need too much brain to do it. Because every shoes on my shoe rack go with every jeans of mine. And I love this feeling.
But on the top front… Hence I have a lot of tops I just don’t feel the same affection. Really, I almost just pull something out (now this old yellow one because I still couldn’t find better). But maybe this is just the consequence of my addiction of vintage jeans which ruled out most of my skinnies and I’m still figuring it out what to wear to them on the top. And of course I like nothing in fashion stores as something always puts me off, except that one summer top which I can’t wear because of the weather. But won’t give up, the seeking is still in progress.
So these shoes. They are perfect for me. They have all the right details and everything what I like in shoes. Most importantly they’re comfortable and walkable, easy to pull them on and off, have really good quality, they’re more on the masculine side but still womanly stylish and give the right coverage so could be worn all the time. I like the metals detail breaks the whole black look and don’t give a tinkling sound. 🙂 And this is just my very personal preference but I like shoes with closed toes much more.
Actually I like them so much that I was thinking about buying the leopard ones as well. But I won’t. That would be too much shoes (is there such a thing as too much shoes?) and I don’t like the fur on those shoes. Plus I’d also prefer the leopard spots to be bigger to look more real if you know what I mean. So there will be no leopard shoes for me but if TopShop made more of these in different colors, still wouldn’t know what other color I like so I suppose these (and the loafers by Office Shoes :)) are the ideal shoes for me.
Leather jacket, top and tote – Mango, jeans – vintage Levi’s 891, backless loafers – TopShop
Do you like them too? What do you think? And about those confusing names? Or that’s just me?
