I left Zara for last because lately I couldn’t find anything interesting there but today when I started to work with it, realized that maybe I just have to switch my point of view. And really, where Zara is the strongest now – I mean, if you have the patience to go trough all the zillion stuff they have – that’s the occasional wear. And why not? Wedding season is here so I guess a lot of women need new dresses.
I remember few years ago when all of our friends got married in the very same year, I was struggling with finding the proper dresses. I used to love only black and white and as you know probably, you cannot wear white because that’s the color of the bride obviously and cannot wear full black either because that’s the color of funerals. Also it’s said that not really lucky to wear red either because that means you’re the lover, but probably it’s just bit too harsh. 🙂 So back than it was really hard to find something nice which was neither black nor white but has good quality and affordable price.
But this season when maximalism is cooler then ever we have a lot of options, lot of color, lot of print to chose from. Actually Zara has a separate section for just occasional wear where all the nice dress can be found.
But lets see from the beginning…
With jackets. For example this denim jacket seems a pretty good deal if you want to buy one which is not vintage. Nice color, classic fit, 100% cotton, affordable price, what else do we need? But because I always was a leather jacket kinda girls I chose this one which is made by real leather and also has a nice classic fit and good price. Also because these dresses are a bit too girly for me I’d toughen them up with a moto jacket.
So another strong suit of Zara is the cuts. They know how to cut an item to be really trendy so they have a bunch of shirts and blouses which look so stylish. But when I checked them in person I just didn’t like anything, so I’m gonna stick with more classic fits like this A-line black top with lace details and a white cropped top which will have a bigger role later on. 🙂
If you’re still finding a good pair of mom jeans, these ones could be worth a shot. Again, nice color, classic fit, 100% cotton and pretty cheap. Everything you might need in jeans right know. And black airy culottes. I have to admit these are made from 100% polyester, but otherwise seem nice so maybe could worth a look.
And the dresses. It seems Zara really digs this floral print trend so they have a lot of options and most of them seem beautiful on the pictures. And at least these are not full plastic materials but viscose, which is still artificial but at least from the good kinds of semi-artificial.
I really like these black sandals, too bad they have too high heels (for me), anyways the perfect pairs to again, toughen up a bit those floral prints but elegant enough to wear them to a party. And they have blocked heels which are more comfy than stilettos. And for more casual days some leather slides in beautiful burgundy color. As I saw they are out of stock online but maybe Zara will bring more as they seem really popular and I can see why.
Finally some bags, again one smaller one for those parties and a bigger one for casual days and vacations. I especially like the small one, those tiny tribal details seem just fine for summer nights and days. 🙂
So these are the pieces and now lets see the outfits. As you probably noticed I picked up these things consciously, so I’ll be able to create more elegant and casual wears too.
And my conclusions?
- If you need a dress for some occasions or just because, it’s worth to check Zara’s site out. They have a lot of trendy and girly staff. My favorites are the dresses, but you could find some basic staples as well.
- But I most definitely would go to Zara in person to check and try everything on because the photos are beautifully composed and everything seems so covetable but maybe the reality is a whole another story. 🙁
- Also be conscious what you need because it’s really easy to get inside the Zara vortex. Blink once and you have a lot of junk and all your money is gone.
With all these in mind I think it would be nice to shop there again.
What do you think?
