When we moved here a lot of things changed. Besides the obvious ones like living in a different country, with different culture and a total different language we had to change our habits too. We cannot buy everything what we could back in Hungary which means a bit different or more like some mixed Hunglish food and my shopping habits changed too.
First of all now I buy things mostly online. Not just because it’s convenient but because the City is not close and commuting in London is well, lets say it’s not cheap. Also vintage shopping is the best when you do it online. Fact. I never find anything in person, I just don’t have the patience. Secondly my earlier favorite Zara is not my favorite anymore. At all. I’m not sure it’s just me or not but I think its quality is just worse and worse. They still have nice looking and covetable and beautifully photographed things but when I go there I have to disappoint over and over again. Of course you can still find there nice quality things too but not too often.
Thirdly I could give new favorites to my favorites. Like TopShop, vintage stores and Urban Outfitters. Interestingly enough I knew well TS before and few years ago it was a big dream of mine to get some of their stores. It seems silly at this point but it’s the truth. On the other hand I wasn’t familiar with UO. It was never a big hype around it, or at least it never got me like TS’s hype did.
So when we arrived here I went Zara, Mango and TS maybe H&M all the time and most of my clothes are also from these stores. Now it’s more like TS, OU, Mango and maybe Zara and H&M. Rarely I check others like GAP, Uniqlo, Bershka, River Island, M&S and Next too but I just never buy anything. They are just not along with my habits (yet?).
What I wanted to say with all of this, that because I like UO so much lately this one will be my second summer collection post after Mango. So lets see what I picked out this time.
Short dresses. I love these on the models at least. I’m not sure I’d wear them over and over though. I especially like the floral printed but it’s still in my ears when I got one many years ago and my mother said it’s so granny. Well, that one didn’t have this plunge and keyhole detail obviously and it was longer too but since than I haven’t bought a floral dress. But on the other side this time is the period of changes so maybe I should try one and stop blaming my parents :P.
This second dress is really cute too (those tassels) and also available in black and red. I really like this withe one but maybe the red one would be better for my complexion. Anyway, they all look good.
Long white summer dress. It’s so airy and summery. Looks mega good but I can imagine it more on a vacation then here in London. I picked up simply because it screams summer.
However this vintage denim skirt it’s totally fine in London too. I love OU’s Urban Renewal collection and I know it’s not a seasonal thing but I have to check it all the time. And not just skirts but jeans and shorts and everything else too. But back to the skirt. I have something similar (from here btw) and I f*ckin’ love it and don’t mind this exact one on the model either.
Another Renewal piece, this time a grey hoodie. It doesn’t need much explanation I think. And a black jumper with lace neckline. I’d prefer it in white or some creamy color though but it looks cool nonetheless.
Swahili tote bag made from banana fibers. How cool is that? Although the 48 quid it’s a bit pricey me thinks, there’s no picture of the inside of the bag (I guess there’s nothing interesting there) and it’s only available online, I think it could be worth a shot.
And my slippers! I mean the Vagabond slippers which I have in black. Now I picked the cream version (the black is there too) and I can totally recommend them. They’re extremely stylish, comfortable and really good quality. Totally worth the 60 quid. And maybe I’d buy this cream version too if I wasn’t afraid of dirt. Ohhh… 🙁
Finally some delicate jewelry which can be worn all the time. I’d pick this arrow pendant one definitely because I’m a Sagittarius and this small bracelet because it’s red and cute.
I won’t do outfits this time because there are no product pictures about the clothes (without models) and because most of the things are dresses so there’s not too much variation and also the accessories are so neutral and delicate that they could be paired with anything.
I think it’s definitely worth the visit to OU store or web shop as they have lot of nice things and although the prices are a bit higher than lets say in Zara I think it’s because of the better quality. And that’s worth a bit higher price in my book.
