If you have eagle eyes maybe you noticed already that I joined Twitter so the little icon appeared on the blog side. Yes, I know that probably I’m the last human being who joined it but to be quite frank I didn’t get the whole hype. At all.
I started consuming blogs on Bloglovin (where I could be followed too ;)) around 10 years ago. I was stunned how genius the whole concept was, because this was the first time you could get a peak from a person daily life, dressing habitats and style from the other side of the world if you would. I get to know a lot of girls from Sweden, Netherland, California and Australia and could feel closer that how cold is North Europe most of the year or that in California you can get away with some shorts and jumpers most of the time, or in Australia they spend the Christmas in bikini on the beach.
Also it was the first time when I could use English which developed so far that my vocabulary got pretty good and I can read (and translate) anything what I eventually could use here in London every single day. I can communicate with a bunch of people all over the world without even leaving my apartment. For me this was a big deal as Hungarians are not really good at languages (hey, we have one of the most unique and difficult languages in the world) and because my first foreign language was German.
But back to my rugged way to Twitter. Social media just happened from nowhere, first Facebook then phone applications came and everybody went crazy with them. I didn’t get the hype but after a while I started using Instagram because I noticed that bloggers use that more frequently and it has pictures which is not on the blog. Sometimes I used it for sharing one or photos though most of the time I just checked other’s pictures.
And I love Pinterest too, it’s one of the best thing ever where you can collect your inspirations from everywhere without hearing your hubby complaining about storing all those pictures somewhere. True story.
But Twitter? I didn’t get it at all. I mean most of people have FB, lot of them have a blog or/and Instagram too where we could share everything. Why is that so freakin’ important to share something with the whole world in the very minute when it happens. But I think it had something to do with the fact that I’m an introverted person who barely leaves her comfort zone. I prefer listening over speaking everything all the time. So I processed this whole thing pretty slowly.
Then a few months ago (almost 3!, yey! :)) I’ve started this blog which was the beginning for something slow but certain. My goal was to build the whole thing up step by step, making my blog, sharing pictures on Instagram, posts on FB and eventually sharing everything on Twitter which is quite the mile stone for me, the part of my journey where I’m extending my comfort zone a bit bigger and even bigger. So here I am patting my own shoulders and happy as a monkey for its tale.
I still don’t get Snapchat though (cough grandma here, cough), and it didn’t let me sign up either which is how it has to be right now. But I guess that’s a next step for the future.
Deserved chilling after getting the job done.
Anyway, what I wanted to say with this that’s I’m on Twitter so from now on you can follow me there too. You’re all very welcomed. 🙂
