Now that spring is finally here we can put away our boots and take out, well, basically everything else from the shoe boxes/wardrobe (or wherever we store them). As you could see it I already started collecting my shoes of warmer weather but somehow I’m still not satisfied completely. Moreover, I think I’m in a style rut shoe wise. Why? Let me explain.
1, I’m an ankle boots person. Ankle boots are easy you just pull them on and off, most of the time there have no buckles or any other closure what makes difficult to pull them on. They have an instant cool vibe and they don’t break my heels. These are the main reasons I have a lot of them and I could buy one more pair without hesitation.
Ankle boots, ankle boots and more ankle boots for fall and winter…
2, But back to shoes for spring. Lets see what trendy choices we have. Mainly flats and sneakers what I’m not against at all, just you know because I’m on the shorter side and I like wearing non skinny jeans I have to consider what kind of shoes wear with looser fit
pants jeans. I love loafers, babouches, ballerinas and sneakers and I already have those, there’s no problem here.
… and sneakers and flats for spring and summer.
3, Where problem comes that’s shoes with heels. I told you before that I can’t (so I won’t) wear shoes with high heels. So what’s left? Shoes with mid heels. What we have here those are mainly granny chic shoes, loafers with heels and mules. I tried them I swear, I already bought granny chic shoes because they seemed the perfect solution but I had to return them as somehow I didn’t like them on me. 🙁
I’d like wearing granny chic shoes but I guess I’m not a granny chic type.
This is a problem I’m facing every single damn spring. Don’t get me wrong, as I said I love flats and sneakers too but it would be so nice to have something else too. Something more chic but not too chic. And therefore I’m constantly browsing the net after the perfect shoes but I always ended with more sneakers and flats to think about.
Although I saw some nice options on others what I could imagine on me, it’s really difficult to find something similar with affordable price and good quality.
Like these for example. Yes, I know that the first ones are basically mules but they have closed toes so I’d give a try them. I’m also lusting over that color.
I’ve just browsed websites trough after shoes with heels. The first thing I had to realise that I don’t like buying shoes at Mango and Zara anymore. Just like their bags, most of the time they have questionable quality and most of the people wear these. So I rather pay a bit more and have less but better quality shoes.
Like Vagabond. It seems my love for Vagabond is coming back as my black loafers are from there too. I adore that rusty color but somehow it screams for fall with this loafer style and I already have white leather sneakers (although those are bit different). I adore them both, but do I need another pair loafers or sneakers? Probably not…
Vagabond rusty red suede loafers and white sneakers from their website.
From fast fashion brands I like TopShop‘s shoe selection. Quality wise at least. But I checked every heels carefully and guess what I found, what I like too…another flats. I love the pointy toes the ties and the pop of color. Especially the yellow ones which could be good options for blue and black jeans.
These Topshop flats are nice but still flats…
I also checked Office Shoes and here you have the shoes what I like more or less. Chanel like suede ballerinas with heels (yes, pretty granny chic too but with a bit higher heels and decent color combo). And peep toe sandals but quite nice ones I have to say.
My favorites(?) from Office Shoes, granny chic style and sandals. But I’m not sure at all because I don’t have that I want these immediately feeling. 🙁
And that’s it. My conclusion is after this endless seeking that I have three choices:
- I’ll compromise and buy buy (another) ballerinas with heels or peep toe sandals. Basically one of them from above. Probably I’ll try them and see what happens.
- I’ll keep buying flats and sneakers (I still think those Vagabond ones are the closest to me).
- I won’t buy anything at all and save my money for other things.
Maybe I keep finding problems where are no problems at all. But wrote this post because these things are important for me (this is a fashion blog after all) and I won’t buy everything just too find out which would be the best. But also I know myself that I know I won’t give up on seeking the perfect pair.
And also maybe you could find some useful thought or nice shoes here, did you? 🙂 Do you hesitate this much too before buying things? If you have a good tip for me please don’t hesitate to tell me.
