The other weekend we went to cinema to watch Deadpool with my husband. Well… it wasn’t so good for me but he quite enjoyed it and honestly I can see why. It was a big bunch of nasty joke from ugly Ryan Reynolds. 🙂 Anyway, I wore this outfit with new and old (very old) pieces and a bit of ’80s flair.
I really love how my longer blazer peaks out under my coat.
I wore my navy peacoat and houndstooth blazer from Zara, my new jeans from TopShop, western booties from Office Shoes and my new bag from &OtherStories and I think I can get away with this full outfit in the ’80s. Which is quite funny as I was born then so I don’t have too much memories from that era.
Funny or not, it seems ’80s trends are here to stay and I don’t mind it at all until it’s not too bubblegum cheesy and has a bit rocker style.
A bit more of my blazer and t-shirt.
I got this blazer few months ago after a few weeks hesitation. I wasn’t sure I would wear it but I couldn’t shake it out of my head. And I didn’t regret it at all. I love the longer cut, the material (it has wool and cashmere, really) the ruched sleeves and the houndstooth material too. Fun fact: we call houndstooth print as chickensleg print in Hungarian. I guess both make sense, it just strange how different people associate different things. However, houndstooth definitely sounds cooler, hehe.
I’m the candy man, don’t be afraid. Just look at those tiles, full ’80s, aren’t they?
Speaking of coolness. I bought this t-shirt long-long (OMG, about 10 years?) ago and honestly I can’t remember where, which is kinda frustrating as I’m quite good remembering what where when and why bought. Am I getting old? Don’t answer that please. I remember however, that I liked its coolness (I had never been in London before we moved out last year). Maybe you can’t see it properly but it has a big LONDON and God, save the Queen label, plus check and some badges prints on it. Also I liked its fitted shape, crew neck and pretty short, cap sleeves and it wasn’t easy to find this kind of t-shirts back then.
Tick belt with silver buckle with western booties, bleached jeans, blue bag, red checks and brown houndstooth. Me thinks I’m gonna wear this again.
To make bigger the rock effect, I put on my western ankle boots which I love. I must say it isn’t easy to find good western inspired boots but these are perfect for me. They have slightly pointed toes (and not those weirdly long ones which tends to lean back if you know what I mean), suede material (which somehow I prefer over leather) and perfect heels with dark silver colored heel protector.
I put on my new jeans from TopShop which you can read about more here and a black belt to push the above mentioned effect a bit more. And of course I had to wear my new bag which I’m quite obsessed with. Honestly, I don’t know which one prefer I more but luckily I didn’t have to choose. 🙂
What do you think? Do you like ’80s style too? Or never again? 🙂
